Half of all chronic mental health conditions begin by 14 years of age and three-quarters begin by the age of 24. The majority of individuals will receive no treatment. For those lucky enough to receive treatment, the average length of time between onset and treatment is 11 years. Imagine a 15-year-old girl with an eating disorder that doesn’t receive treatment until she is 26.
In this 6-hour specialization course for Mental Health Coaches, you’ll learn how to help identify mental or behavioral health difficulties early and connect the family with proper treatment and support. You’ll also gain skills, tools, and resources for supporting parents and caregivers, so they can support their child. And, you’ll learn how to educate and support families so that they can create an environment at home that supports mental well-being in their children and teens.
The Mental Health Coach training is a prerequisite for this course.
