One in four people experience a mental health disorder at some point in their lifetimes. 70% of US adults have experienced at least one traumatic event in their lifetimes. Despite how common trauma and mental or behavioral health challenges are, many people don’t get professional help and don’t feel comfortable sharing their distress with colleagues. Mental Health Champions act as role models within the workplace to end the stigma associated with these challenges, support colleagues in distress, and promote mental health and well-being throughout the workplace. You’ll also learn to properly uphold ethics and confidentiality, and understand confidentiality limits.

In this 8-hour course, you’ll learn how to recognize the signs that a colleague is struggling, and acquire the tools needed to support them. You’ll also learn to create a workplace that supports mental health and get the expertise to teach the skills colleagues can use to reduce stress and anxiety, manage emotions, build positive communications skills, resolve conflicts, and practice self care–all of which boost mental health and well-being across the organization.
