Addiction and Behavioral Health Disorders

Behavioral health and substance use disorders can significantly impact one’s quality of life, relationships, and overall well-being. These disorders are very common and often go untreated.

In this 6-hour specialization course for Mental Health Coaches, you’ll learn the difference between mental and behavioral health. We discuss addiction, not just to substances, but also to shopping, gaming and gambling, and the role the body’s dopamine reward system plays in addiction. We’ll also discuss eating disorders and self-harm. And, you’ll learn to guide individuals towards lasting recovery and emotional wellness.

The Mental Health Coach training is a prerequisite for this course.
